The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrapped up their trip to Canada in preparation for next year’s Invictus Games in style, at a special One Year to Go Dinner.

Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the event saw an attendance of more than 200 people, including special musical guest Michael Bublé and his wife Luisa Lopilato.

For the joyous occasion, Meghan leaned into earth tones, in a chic one-shoulder, floor-length column dress in an olive green hue by the Canadian designer Greta Constantine, paired with black Manolo Blahnik heels. She accessorised with a gold chain necklace by Logan Hollowell and dainty gold drop earrings. When it came to glam, she kept her make-up natural and glowy complete with a matte nude lip, and styled her dark brown hair in a sleek, side-parted low bun. Harry co-ordinated with his own earthy colour palette, wearing a classic navy blue suit over a crisp white shirt and black tie.

Bublé honoured the couple and the games, while also sending his well wishes to King Charles following his cancer diagnosis, by taking the stage to sing a version of Frank Sinatra’s song “My Way.” His rendition included re-written lyrics, as published by People: “Who knew, dreams can come true, when life tells you, you’re far from finished/ Nothing tames, Invictus Games, you play them your way/ One man, life-changing plan, he does all he can, he’s a visionary/ Our healing wishes for your dad/ You’ve earned each day, the right to say, I did it my way.”

Bublé expressed he was happy that “we can show Harry and Meghan how beautiful [Vancouver] is”.

Following the performance, Harry gave a speech that garnered a standing ovation, where he thanked the audience for their attendance and dedication to the games. “When I am with the Invictus community surrounded by so many brave men and women who have served their countries with distinction, I feel humbled and at home,” he said.

The duke spotlighted how this year marks 10 years of the games. “The past decade has been a testament to the power of resilience and the unbreakable spirit you all exemplify. And boy have we had fun on the way!” he said.

He added: “The Invictus Games are not just a competition; they’re a way of life, a celebration of the human spirit.”

During their three-day stay, Harry and Meghan joined competitors and coaches in anticipation of the sports competition for athletes who have served in the armed forces. The 2025 games will take place in British Columbia’s Vancouver and Whistler and will be the first Invictus Games to host winter and indoor adaptive sports programs.

Earlier in the day, the couple met with Invictus alumni, military families, sponsors, supporters, and Bublé at the Hillcrest Community Centre to learn about one of the new sports: wheelchair curling. Harry and Bublé gave it their best try while Meghan watched and cheered from the sidelines. The couple documented the morning on their website Sussex.com, which they relaunched last week.

Meghan looked cosy and elegant in a camel cape wrap coat by Sentaler that featured dramatic lapels, ribbing details on the cuffs, and a built-in belt that she cinched at the waist, which she paired simply with inky black jeans, matching knee-high leather boots, and taupe gloves. She accessorised with sculptural gold earrings, kept her makeup minimal and natural, and styled her hair in a side-swept low ponytail. For Harry’s part, he opted for an ocean blue puffer vest by Eddie Bauer layered over a light grey jumper, paired with black jeans and dark grey Chelsea boots.

While on the ice, as according to People, Harry shared how “incredible” his visit to Canada has been. “The smiles I have seen on the faces in the last few days, it proves why we do what we do,” he said.

He added: “Every single one of you inspire me, inspire us every single day. So please continue to be there to support each other. I know how much you love to serve — in many instances, you live to serve — so we will continue to give you the opportunity to serve and to inspire people up, down the country and around the world.”
